Our home
Our farmhouse, Società Agricola Fabio, is situated in a country house and has been owned by our family for more than three generations.
The countryside villa, with its ancient tower dating back to the 11th century, offers modern comforts in a traditional environment. Our home has been for a long time a meeting place for grandparents, sons and grandchildren during the summer holidays. The windows of the villa offer scenic views of the Tuscan countryside and the large garden, featuring centuries-old trees, gives the impression that nature is part of the building. The surrounding countryside is unspoilt and features an old meadow characterised by the intense green of the woods and the silvery green of the olive trees. The area, which has recently been designated as a natural park, offers plenty of opportunities for strolling through the woods, for hiking in the Calvana hills and for mountain-biking.

Each bedroom has its privacy, but the atmosphere remains that of the family home where you have the chance of hanging out with other guests or reading a book in the quiet of the living rooms.
Each bedroom is equipped with antique furniture, comfortable beds and private bathroom, linen, soap and hairdryer.
Pets are welcome.

“We have been visiting Il Ponticello with children (now 13, 10 and 4), grandparents and as many friends as we can bring every year for the past ten years, and every year as we leave we start planning the next trip. Returning is like coming home. Set in the hills north of Prato in the mountains between Bologna and Florence, the surroundings are exceptionally beautiful, the millennium old manor house blending in with the olive groves against a quintessentially Tuscan mountain landscape. The flats are well-appointed, extremely well kept and as beautiful in their setting as the countryside around them. We both cook with local produce (including olive oil from the farm), but we also try to eat as much as possible at the farm. Alessandra is a magnificent cook and a wonderful hostess. There is an abundance of things to do on the farm and locally (apart from just sitting and reading in the garden or on the patios), splendid walking (or running if you’re that way inclined) in the hills around. Quick access to many of Tuscany’s most attractive towns: Lucca, Pisa, Florence (of course), Vinci (warmly recommended) and Prato itself. Wonderful warm welcome, exceptionally friendly and helpful service. Can’t recommend this place highly enough.”

The new Finnish sauna Jacuzzi is set in an annex adjacent to the house. It’s a fascinating place with soft lights where you can relax and taste herbal teas “à la carte”. Book this service in advance to enjoy the sauna in complete privacy.
HOT TUB
Set in the orchard, with its energising whirlpool and chromotherapy, our hot tub offers our guest the opportunity to release the tension in a natural outdoor setting (the tub accommodates a maximum of six people).
COOKING CLASSES
What about sitting down to eat a delicious meal you have cooked yourself ? Discover the traditional Tuscan recipes or learn how to bake bread using the house stone oven (minimum 2 people).
FARM SCHOOL
Adults and children will be able to take part in a fun experience learning about farming, peasants’ life, local traditions, beekeeping and animal husbandry.
